SUSANNA THOMPSON
( Charlotte Morgan in STILL LIFE )

For me, the writing is gold, says Susanna Thompson, who most recently received rave reviews for her starring role in the Golden Globe nominated series Once and Again.

Like most creative people, Thompson admits shes visually oriented. In fact, her passion for acting began with literary imagery. Mr. Connie Baucum, her fifth grade teacher, took the class out to observe nature and write poetry about it. When I read my poem aloud, I experienced an incredible mixture of fear and excitement. Poetry unearthed this path that allowed me to emotionally connect with images and communicate it to an audience, she says. Mr. Baucum then guided Thompson into community theater. She continued to study acting in high school and then earned a drama scholarship to San Diego State University. As part of undergraduate study, Thompson had the unique pleasure of appearing in Doggs Hamlet and Cahoots Macbeth under the co-direction of Tony Award-winning playwright Tom Stoppard.

After graduation, Thompson helped facilitate the founding of the San Diego Actors Alliance, performed in regional theater productions of Hay Fever, The Real Thing and Three Sisters and was honored with a Dramalogue award for her work in A Shayna Maidel. This was in addition to being nominated as best actress by the San Diego Critics Circle for her work in Agnes of God.

Lead roles in feature films include Dragonfly with Kevin Costner, Random Hearts with Harrison Ford, Ghosts of Mississippi with Alec Baldwin, Little Giants with Rick Moranis, and When a Man Loves a Woman with Meg Ryan and Andy Garcia.

Thompson also played the role that Grace Kelly originated in the TBS Original Picture High Noon opposite Tom Skerritt. She has also appeared in TV movies and created memorable guest appearances on series such as Chicago Hope, NYPD Blue, The X-Files, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and two Star Trek Voyager specials in which she played The Borg Queen. She can also be seen in the season opener of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Thompson balances her work with pleasure and curiosity, and loves traveling. Deeply rooted in her preference for the visual, she enjoys theater, nature and photography. She also exercises and meditates on a regular basis all of which tap into the spirit and emotion that feed her work.

She lives in San Diego.

DAVID KEITH
( Ben Morgan in STILL LIFE )

Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, David Keith aspired to become a criminal lawyer until he realized in high school drama class that courtroom theatrics could never be enough. After graduating from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech and Theater, as well as an Equity card from the school's Clarence Brown Company, he set out for New York City.

Keith's 70-plus feature film projects began with his debut in "The Rose" with Bette Midler, soon followed by appearances in "The Great Santini," "Brubaker" and "Back Roads." However, it was his portrayal of the suicidal Naval officer candidate in the classic "An Officer and A Gentleman" that earned him two Golden Globe Award nominations. This resulted in starring roles in such films as "Independence Day," "The Lords of Discipline," "Firestarter" and the acclaimed thriller "White of the Eye." His personal favorite was his portrayal of Elvis Presley in "Heartbreak Hotel," in which he also sang Elvis' music for the film. Keith then went on to appear as Jack Parkman, the home-run slugging rogue, in "Major League II." His more recent credits include "The Indian In The Cupboard," "Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain," "U-571," "Men of Honor," "Behind Enemy Lines" with Gene Hackman, and the festival circuit favorite "World Traveler" with Billy Crudup and Julianne Moore. He can currently be seen in "Daredevil," in which he portrays the prize fighter Jack Murdoch.

Keith's stage work began with The Red-Blue-Grass Western Fly Show upon his arrival in New York. Between films, he has found time to appear in "Love Letters" with Brooke Shields, "Harvey" and "Greater Tuna." He returned to his alma mater, the University of Tennessee, to star in the Clarence Brown Company productions of "Bus Stop," "Catfish Moon" and "The Rainmaker."

His directorial debut was the successful, low-budget horror flick "The Curse." He followed by directing "The Further Adventures of Tennessee Buck," a spoof of jungle movies in which he also played the leading role. Recently, Keith taught "Acting for Film" at the University of Tennessee, for which he directed the feature length film "Waterville."

On the small screen, Keith tackled his most demanding part: the title role in "Guts and Glory: The Rise and Fall of Oliver North." His other credits include James Michener's "Texas," Sidney Sheldon's "If Tomorrow Never Comes," and the cable movie "Gulag." He starred for two seasons on Steven Spielberg's highly acclaimed police drama "High Incident." In 1988, Keith added three more cable movies including Bob Rafelson's "Poodle Springs" and the thriller "Perfect Prey." In addition, he's starred in the situation comedies "Flesh 'N Blood" and "Local Heroes." Keith co-wrote and performed the theme songs with Leon Russell and Gregg Allman respectively.

Keith maintains his residence in Knoxville with his wife Nancy and daughter Presley. It is there that he pursues his other passions: writing country music, playing the blues, eating his mom's fried chicken, and avidly following University of Tennessee sports with his dad. He can be regularly spotted on the sidelines and courtside of Volunteer games.
